With attention to women's holistic needs, we strive to support pregnancy, birth, postpartum, motherhood and all stages of a woman's life.

During the registration process we will assist in the design and coordination of the menu offerings to create the perfect package for home birth, birth center and hospital births.

1. Contact us and let us know that you are interested in scheduling a tour or a consult.

2. Fill out the tour/consult form that you will receive

3. Attend your tour or consult

4. Fill out a verification of benefits form

Once we receive the results of your verification, we will call you to schedule your registration appointment.

2. Registration Appointment
During this appointment we will-

  • Discuss finances

  • Confirm the pregnancy

  • Order lab work

  • Fill out paperwork

  • Issue birth prep checklists

  • Establish a plan of care

  • Assign classes and upcoming appointments

3. Initial Appointment
During this appointment we will review lab results, provide a PAP if you are due for one, perform a complete physical exam, a breast exam and a prenatal exam. 

4. Prenatal Appointments
Prenatal appointments sometimes take place in a modified group setting. This is known to create improved birth outcomes while also providing for private time with the midwife.

  • Blood Pressure

  • Temperature, pulse and respiration

  • Weight

  • Urine dip

  • Measuring the belly

  • Listen to baby's heartbeat if >12 wks

  • Review of symptoms

  • Review plan of care

  • Ordering labs or collecting specimens when needed

  • Ordering or providing medical consultations when needed

  • Ordering or providing ultrasounds and non-stress tests when needed

  • Discuss diet, nutrition and fitness

  • Discuss home life, interests and hobbies

  • Discuss pregnancy health and childbirth education

5. Classes
We have many optional specialty classes throughout the year.

4 of the 5 classes our clients are required to attend are held on the first four Wednesdays of the month at 6:30PM.

The fifth class is CPR and it is held several times a year.

6. Around the 35th week of pregnancy, you will receive a home visit if you are planning a home birth.

During this visit we will be checking on the following items:

  • Supplies

  • To do lists

  • Birth team

  • Birth plan

  • Review of care to-date

  • Review plan of care

7. Birth

  • Labor support

  • Comfort measures

  • Maternal monitoring

  • Fetal monitoring

  • Nutritional intake

  • Birth of baby

8. Immediate Postpartum

  • Maternal monitoring

  • Baby monitoring

  • Supporting bonding

  • Newborn exam w/ weights and measures

  • Photographs

  • Tidying the birth space

9. 24-72 hr visit

  • Birth Certificate

  • Monitoring of mom and baby

  • Newborn hearing test

  • Newborn heart screening

  • Newborn metabolic screening

  • Birth review

  • Plan of care

10. Postpartum (up to six weeks after birth)

  • Maternal support

  • Breastfeeding support

  • Ongoing monitoring as needed

  • Review birth control if desired

  • Provide PAP or other Well-Woman services if needed
